Upon successful sign up, you must complete the simple 3-step activation process. Then a specialist will promptly follow up and help set up your new Aid-Need service.


Should I have a medical issue will you make notifications on my behalf?

Yes! As a premium-level service client we will look at your Electronic Personal Record and make notifications to up to five people including your doctor or trusted health care practitioner. You will enjoy the following benefits and much more: delivering detailed notifications to multiple contacts, dedicated turn-by-turn directional info. to talk friends to your location to render assistance, and turn-by-turn directional support to a Good Samaritan to drive you to a source of help.

Is your call center outsourced? If I call with an urgent medical need can I be assured someone will understand me and readily help?

Halo Beacon associates work out of two state-of-the-art call centers based wholly within the United States. Rest assured that our call center services will never be outsourced. Our associates are available 24/7 and normally pick up within a few rings. Should you ever call 855-Aid-Need and press '0' to speak to our highly trained nurses, they will immediately begin nurse triage service by phone.


Do you give good multilingual support to best serve me?

Yes! We also understand that customers may have medical needs that require immediate, live nurse advice. And it is inevitable that someone of any language may call to act as a Good Samaritan by dialing our special Aid-Need nurse line on your behalf, particularly if you are traveling. That is why our highly trained registered nurses have extensive multilingual capabilities, and they can quickly patch to a special interpreter service capable of speaking and understanding over 250 different languages. We also offer a lookup service for 15,000+ hospitals worldwide to give you a new halo help anywhere.


What is Halo Beacon's "safety net" ensuring I'm never forgotten while I travel?

How do I use Halo Beacon's 855-My-Route Service?

The toll-free My-Route line is your call-in travel itinerary saver. You can save and share your essential voice messages while you travel abroad or even on short trips. To use it simply dial 855-My-Route and leave a message. Our caller ID system will recognize your number, and your message will be saved in your personal mailbox!




How can I check and manage my mailbox messages on 855-MY-ROUTE?

To listen to new and old messages call 855-My-Route from any phone:


1) Dial 855-My-Route
2) When you hear the initial recording, quickly press * and enter your 7-digit extension/phone number.
3) The machine will say "password" and you must enter your current passcode and press #.
4) When you hear the voice prompts, press "1" for new messages and "2" for old messages.





What if I want to leave a message in my mailbox, but I'm not calling from my regular phone that your caller ID would normally recognize?

To leave a message in your unique mailbox from any phone:


1) Dial 855-My-Route from any phone
2) When you hear the initial recording, press * and enter your 7-digit extension/phone number.
3) The machine will say "password" and you must enter your current passcode and press #.
4) When you hear the voice prompts, press "6" for send message and then enter your personal 7-digit extension. Speak your message when prompted and then press #.
5) To send the message press "1", and then you will be informed that your message has been sent!





855-MY-ROUTE is practical AND Private. Messages are passcode protected, and you can change your passcode anytime. You are in charge of who can access your messages!



To personalize or change your passcode:


1) Dial 855-My-Route
2) When you hear the initial recording, press * and enter your 7-digit extension/phone number.
3) The machine will say "password" and you must enter your current passcode and press #.
4) When you hear the voice prompts, press "7" for administrative options.
5) To change to a new passcode press "1". Then enter a new passcode (4-7 digits in length) followed by the # key.
6) The machine will repeat, and then press "1" to confirm.



But what if I completely forget my passcode?

Well, no worries! Call Halo Beacon at 855-SOS-HALO and a friendly associate will put in a ticket to reset it. After receiving your reset passcode, you will be free to change it anytime by following the above steps.





How can I access the interpretation service by phone?

Imagine a native language speaking friend with you 24/7. Simply call 855-SOS-HALO to turn any phone into a portable, live translator with 180+ language coverage. We will quickly patch to our interpreter service, so you'll never feel alone or struggle to communicate while abroad.


When should I dial 855-SOS-HALO or 855-AID-NEED? How will I know which one to call?

Your primary line for urgent medical needs is 855-AID-NEED. Call 855-AID-NEED, and place your phone on speakerphone to play your personal medical recording to Good Samaritans. Or call 855-AID-NEED and press '0' to speak to a live nurse 24/7.

As a combination premium Halo Beacon Angel subscriber you may also call 855-SOS-HALO for a full spectrum of practical services.


Can I call and get nurse advice for my child or get advice on behalf of a loved one even though they are not a Halo Beacon subscriber?

No. For legal reasons nurses do not give out medical advice to non-subscribers. To access Halo Beacon services one must first agree to the terms of service. To make it easier on cost to give kids a halo of help we do allow you to sign up your child for Halo Beacon service for minors at half off the cost, which is only $14/month (plus the initial setup fee).


How can I use your pay-by-phone service in a pinch?

We offer an emergency pay-by-phone service to provide payments to authorized service providers if you find yourself short on funds. This is a great safety cushion for example in the case that you run into car trouble during your trip, leaving you stranded far from help. Simply call 855-SOS-HALO to put down a credit of funds on your account. Then call 855-SOS-HALO whenever you are short on funds and need to provide payment to a service provider. Even extend coverage to mom or any loved one to give them a halo of safety while they travel.


How can a loved one use the pay-by-phone service if I extend coverage to them?

First call 855-SOS-HALO and place funds down on your account. Let us know whom you would like to be covered (and if applicable for what time span you are extending coverage to them). Let your loved ones know that in a time of need they can call 855-SOS-HALO and give your name and phone. Our call center associates will be able to look up your account, verify you have extended coverage to them, and provide payment-by-phone service to a service provider.


What is my personal safety web page and what is it good for?

This will serve as your safety dashboard and is customizable based on your unique needs. Your personal webpage on the halobeacon.com website will include links to helpful first aid resources, first aid videos, and weather/traffic. And it will have a special webchat window enabling you to chat with or send a predesignated duress code direct to the Halo Beacon call center.

You may request your web page list first aid resources and videos pertinent to your medical needs. This can enable you and loved ones to readily access information about how to help you, particularly if you travel far from your typical helpful resources at home.

What are the costs associated with my new Aid-Need / Halo Beacon Angel Service?

Initial setup: $100
Reoccurring fee of $29 per month to maintain the service
Additional fee of $30 on a per call basis to speak to a nurse (unlimited length of call).
The first 20 minutes of talk time are free each month. Thereafter, the charge is $1.99 per minute. (Minutes do not roll over month to month.)
Phone interpreter service is $2.99 per minute.
As a premium subscriber there is no added cost to use the pay-by-phone service.

Yes. Halo Beacon is serious about security. This has earned our primary call center the International Standards Organization 27001 certification with full PCI compliance. In addition, our FONEMED registered nurses are committed to upholding patient privacy, and all our associates are committed to abide by HIPAA regulations. Halo Beacon associates are 100% serious about both safety and privacy. In addition, we will not sell or release your personal information to third party companies. When will you give out my private location information and to whom will it be given?

Halo Beacon is not like other companies that advertise teenager tracking services. Halo Beacon only gives your location information out in the case of a true emergency, an urgent medical necessity or in the case all persons are aware and the release of such information is preplanned with us and defined by specific parameters. In these situations, Halo Beacon will give location information only to emergency responders/qualified medical personnel or those people listed on your Electronic Personal Record.
