The Business

What is your Business Concept?

Halo Beacon is a one-of-a-kind system delivering a diverse array of personally helpful services with one simple call. Unlike other services we do not require tricky auto installation, a separate phone, a special device to wear around your neck or an app that only works on certain phones. We are only a phone call away 24/7 here at 855-SOS-HALO. We serve US and Canadian customers along with world travelers. While we are not a substitute for 9-1-1, we do use the latest technology to fill in the gaps. Because Halo Beacon is unsurpassed in convenience and benefit it makes a great gift for people across the age spectrum.

How long have you been in business?

Halo Beacon LLC is a startup company formed February 1, 2012.

How did Halo Beacon begin?

Halo Beacon's owner formerly held one of the world's more specialized occupations by screening for orbital debris which intersects with global satellites. He notified global satellite owners daily of these collision hazards. Results of screenings were sent direct to NASA. The screenings and analysis he led his team to perform from their 24/7 center proved to be the vital pieces of information spurring multiple, rare maneuvers of the international space station and over one hundred evasive maneuvers taken by international satellites to avert orbiting pieces of debris. He and a co-worker once wondered if the unique things being done by their relatively small team in their center to keep the world's satellites and NASA astronauts safe could be applied to help people on earth. Unwilling to take no for an answer or listen to a myriad of excuses about why it couldn't be done, he realized a one-of-a-kind business could indeed be created to help people. It could give people roadside assistance. It could help people avoid traffic jams through turn-by-turn directions and help them to in fact get wherever they needed to go while utilizing popular location-based app technology. He realized he could set up his own business to make notifications to loved ones (rather than satellite owners). A business he reasoned could help people worldwide, giving travelers needed information, providing live translation service, connecting people everywhere with multilingual nurses 24/7, and helping people with multiple other unique services. And he saw it could generate funds for charitable organizations.

Halo Beacon's owner tirelessly worked in concert with a myriad of contractors on o-desk.com and Elance for over 2 years, spending significant monetary resources and countless hours to personally lay out all the most intricate aspects of his own business. In 2012 the initial Aid-Need service to turn one's phone into a talking mouthpiece for help through caller ID technology was first made available. Then in 2013 after significant call center training the rest of Halo Beacon's suite of services was launched. Halo Beacon's owner enjoys a successful career as a full-time instructor, training new personnel to work in the center where he used to work. His standalone business, Halo Beacon LLC, now offers its own unique patent-pending services, and its primary call center is trained and staffed 24/7 to serve customers in the US and Canada along with world travelers.
